Jena6 Solidarity

Last week co-workerA sent me the below email notice and I showed my part by wearing all black today.

A different co-worker made a comment to me that it was cool how people were wearing black to show support but that really isn't enough. There should be a lot more being done to help the Jena6 boys. Well I definitely agree with the statement. I also said that people are getting involved to help them.

But I really had a problem with that kind of statement coming from somebody who knew about the solidarity effort yet made no attempt to show his support by wearing black.

I believe the below quote is appropriate for this situation.

"The human race is divided into two classes--those who go ahead and do something, and those who sit still and inquire, 'Why wasn't it done the other way?'"
--Oliver Wendell Holmes
